Llama Fibre Bird Nesting Material for Native Wildlife. Birdnest Nest Filler. Bird Nester Refill and Natural Aviary Supplies
Llama fibre nesting material refill packs in 2 sizes.
50g or 100g
The llama fibre colours are varied and mixed, consisting of a mixture of raw and picked outer guard hair and undercoat fibre, tumbled and carded fibre. Llama fibre is lighter than wool and warmer, drying quickly.
While fibre colours are varied mixed, please feel free to message me if you have a preference for dark or light colours and I will try my best to provide these from the prepared fibre I currently have available.
I have noticed that native birds on our property have preferences of certain colours when nest building, so the variety of colours is intended to attract their attention to pick and choose their nest colours to match their surroundings. The guard hair that llamas have is coarser than the usual fibre, so is perfect for the birds to 'stitch' their nests together. This often forms the base layers of the nests we have found, with the softer fibre lining the layer the eggs and chicks sit on.
*Please note that due to the raw state of the llama fibre, this product may contain small amounts of debris / vegetable matter.
Llama fibre is sourced from the llamas of Fox Hill. Fox Hill is a small family run llama stud situated in beautiful Marradong Country, Western Australia. After shearing, the fibre left over from our fiber processing is collected and used to make these unique bird friendly gifts.
Always happy to combine postage, see policies :)
